Family and community are very important to the residents of Remington/Wolcott. Residents of Remington and Wolcott often come together to celebrate or just enjoy a beautiful Indiana spring day. From the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Summerfest and 4th of July Celebration to the Holiday Parade and recreational sports leagues, there are many opportunities for children, families and seniors to enjoy each other's company.
Residents in both towns are active in Scouting, 4-H and FFA activities. There are several nonprofit organizations that offer membership and fellowship, including the Lions Club and Psi Iota Xi and Tri-Kappa sororities. Each town is walkable - especially Wolcott - and, with plans for parks no more than a 15-minute walk away, they will become more so through future development. Active residents can take advantage of soccer fields, tennis courts, baseball, playgrounds and basketball and horseshoe facilities. Nearby Carpenters Creek offers a natural town boundary and plenty of future recreation opportunities.
A variety of Christian denominations offer ministry and fellowship, while the Tri-County Cavaliers compete in high-school football, volleyball, cross country and boys and girls basketball. Many students are members of the local 4-H and FFA. Other activities include band, cheerleading, and special interest clubs such as chess, art, book, languages and national honor society.
Being within 30 minutes of Purdue University offers additional amenities including continuing education, theater, college sports, restaurants and shopping.
